Would you still water if you never saw growth?

What have I been putting in real effort on that hasn't paid off yet, and am I still willing to water if it never does?

These grapes took years before they became anything, and my dad wasn't tending them for this exact day. He was tending to them without knowing which day it would be, or if it was one coming at all.

That's the part worth sitting with. Not the fruit. The years he kept showing up with nothing to point to.
